Former US President and Republican Presidential candidate Donald Trump today expressed his gratitude to the American people for their outpouring of love and support following the assassination attempt on his life during a rally in Pennsylvania recently.
The Former US President said his resolve is unbroken, and he is committed to delivering a government that serves the American people. Mr Trump was speaking after formally accepting the Republican nomination for President for a third time at the Republican National Convention at Milwaukee in Wisconsin today. US Presidential election in scheduled to be held in November this year.
In his first speech after a failed assassination bid on him, the Republican Presidential nominee said he stands before Americans with a message of confidence, strength, and hope. He said, the discord and
division in their society must be healed. He said he is running to be President for all of America, not half of America because there is no victory in winning for half of America. Former President Trump also promised to stop illegal immigration. He pledged to end the border nightmare and restore American borders.
The Former President said, this election should be about the issues United States is facing and how to make America successful, safe, free, and great again.
Trump survived an attempt on his life last week when a shooter, identified as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, fired multiple shots at him at a campaign rally, injuring his right ear. The shooter was shot dead by Secret Service snipers. The motive behind his attack is not known yet as investigations continue.
