German Defence Minister Boris Pistorius made a surprise visit to Ukraine's capital Kyiv, on Tuesday. The visit is a part of the international efforts to support Ukraine in its war against Russia. In an official statement, German officials said Pistorius aimed to assess the effectiveness of its aid as well as take stock of the fighting
during his visit.
Germany is the second biggest single provider of military and financial support to Ukraine after the United States. On Monday, U.S. Secretary of Defence Lloyd Austin visited Kviv and announced 100 million dollars in new military aid to Ukraine.
