Pakistan Defence Minister Khawaja Asif yesterday said that the government is considering imposing a ban on the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) over the incidents that took place on the 9th of May.
Speaking to media persons in Islamabad, Khawaja Asif said, a decision has not been taken yet, but a review is surely underway. He called the vandalism of military installations across Pakistan as coordinated attacks planned by PTI chairman Imran Khan.
Protests had erupted across Pakistan
after Imran Khan's arrest in Islamabad on the 9th of May.
Meanwhile, Islamabad High Court (IHC) yesterday ordered to release immediately Asad Umar, the secretary general of PTI, and a close aide of Imran Khan. The court ruled that his arrest was in violation of the Maintenance of Public Order Ordinance (MPO). He was arrested on the 10th of May, a day after nationwide demonstrations. Umar was brought into custody from the IHC grounds under the MPO.
