Hamas has announced the names of the latest Israeli hostages to be released today amid mounting outrage over the Palestinian group’s admission that it released the wrong body instead of Shiri Bibas’. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office confirmed that the hostages’ families have been informed of their imminent release.
Meanwhile, Arab leaders of all six Gulf states are meeting in the Saudi Arabian capital Riyadh on Friday to strategise a countermeasure against US President Donald Trump’s
controversial proposal to redevelop Gaza under U.S. control. The discussions are being held with the leaders of Egypt and Jordan ahead of the broader Arab summit next month.
President Trump suggested last month that the US might take control of Gaza, develop it into the “Riviera of the Middle East,” and relocate its Palestinian residents to neighbouring countries like Egypt and Jordan. The suggestions were met with astonishment and outrage across the Arab world.
