Happy End for Brave Dog that Cheated Death in Greek Blaze

The photo of dog weary, terrified and blackened by the smoke resting on a rock at the beach of Mati became viral in Greece on Tuesday.

For some, the dog who got separated from her owners during the mad rush to the sea to evade the approaching flames, was a kind of hero, a symbol of



hope.

On Wednesday, it emerged that Lua, who was in the care of an animal welfare group since Monday, was reunited with her owners.

A Facebook post by the group says that the owners did not abandon Lua. They love her. They simply could not cope during a very stressful time.
