In Bangladesh, security forces killed an armed passenger suspected of attempting to hijack a Dubai bound flight.
The suspect, a Bangladeshi national identified as Mahadi, was killed on Monday when security forces stormed the plane after it made an emergency landing in Chittagong.
All 148 passengers and crew on board state-run the Biman Airlines Flight BG147 disembarked safely.
It is not yet clear why the 25-year old
gunman attempted to hijack the plane. An Air force official said, the man repeatedly wanted to talk to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Army officials said the suspect was initially injured when shots were fired but died shortly afterwards.
According to Army Major General Matiur Rahman, the suspect had refused to surrender when asked, forcing the commandos to go for action - firing, which lasted eight minutes.
