On April 10, the news of Pakistani military court announcing the death sentence to Indian citizen Kulbhushan Jadhav for his alleged role in sabotage and espionage activities made headlines in the country, however, it was the same time when Pakistan government got to know about it. The decision to award death sentence to Jadhav by the army court was kept out of view of even Nawaz Sharif government.

As per a report , the Pakistani government discovered about the death sentence being awarded to Jadhav when Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s advisor on foreign affairs Sartaj Aziz read out the statement which had the information about it.

Meanwhile, strongly condemning the action taken by Pakistani military court, External

Affairs Minister, Sushma Swaraj said that India will go to any extent in order to provide justice to Jadhav.

On Friday, Sartaj Aziz said,  “Kulbhushan Jhadav, who is responsible for espionage, sabotage and terrorism in Pakistan, has been tried according to the law of the land, in a fully transparent manner while preserving his rights, as per the Constitution of Pakistan.”

Aziz said that if Jadhav was innocent then why he was carrying two passports, one with a Hindu name and another one with a Muslim name.

On Jadhav getting a fair trial, Home Minister Rajnath Singh said, “I do not agree with what Pakistan has said. Kulbhushan Jadhav did not get a fair trial.”
