In the United States, hurricane Maria rose in power today to become an dangerous Category Four storm. Now the hurricane is barrelling toward the Caribbean island of Dominica.
The US National Hurricane Centre, NHC, said the eye and the intense inner core is expected to pass near Dominica in the next few hours.
Maria was last reported 70 kilometres southeast of the French island and 35
miles northeast of the French island of Martinique. It is coming two weeks after Hurricane Irma which destruct a lot through the Caribbean.
The NHC said, Maria was packing winds of 130 miles per hour.
Additional strengthening is forecast during the next 24 to 36 hours. Maria is expected to be an extremely dangerous major hurricane during the next couple of days.
