A man from Thailand completely forgot about his wife and left her behind after a quick stop during their road trip. The incident took place on Christmas Day when Boontom Chaimoon and his wife Amnuay Chaimoon set out on a road trip to their hometown in Maha Sarakham province.
The couple, who hoped to spend their new year in their hometown, had a fun journey together until they decided to make a quick stop to relief them selfs at around 3 am.
Subsequently, the 55-year-old man got out of the vehicle and decided to urinate by side of the road. Meanwhile, his wife enquired why he did not stop at a gas station instead. With no response from the husband, the wife decided to walk into the jungle to check. However, the man did not notice her getting out of the vehicle.
The
events that followed are jaw-dropping. Boontom got into the vehicle and drove away, unaware of his wife's absence. When Amnuay came out of the jungle, she was shocked to see that her husband had driven off.
Stranded in the dark, the woman decided to walk and seek help. She walked about 20 km (approximately 12.4 miles) and reached the district of Kabin Buri by 5 am. Soon, she contacted the local police. Further, the woman tried to ring her phone, which was kept inside a bag in their vehicle, as she could not remember her husband's phone number.
Unfortunately, her calls were not picked up. Finally, at around 8 am, she was able to contact her husband with the help of cops. The man still had no idea about leaving his wife behind. Additionally, he had already driven about 159.6 km from where he had left her.
