Sharjah, UAE: The 42nd edition of the Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF) is currently underway delivering an extraordinary celebration of literature, culture, and global influences. Organized by the Sharjah Book Authority (SBA), the event is taking place from November 1 to 12 at the Sharjah Expo Centre.

Under the theme "We Speak Books," SIBF 2023 is bringing together an illustrious lineup of renowned authors, film celebrities, thought leaders, and global influencers, including Nobel Prize laureates and top-selling authors from around the world. This grand literary gathering is offering a diverse range of perspectives and insights.

The current edition of SIBF features an impressive participation of 2,033 publishers representing 109 countries. Among these, 1,043 are Arab publishing houses, and 990 are foreign counterparts, jointly presenting an astonishing 1.5 million titles. 

The India Pavilion is a vibrant and bustling hub at the book fair, representing the rich literary diversity of the country. With 47 publishers in its delegation, it



showcases an impressive array of books and literature from renowned names such as the National Book Trust of India, Mathrubhoomi Books, Malayala Manorama Green Books Private Limited, Chintha Publishers, Wisdom Publication, DC Press, Ivory Books, Haritham Books, Olive Publications, and many others. The pavilion buzzes with literary enthusiasts, authors, and readers, creating a dynamic and engaging atmosphere where visitors can explore the best of Indian literature and publishing.

The 12-day agenda is a comprehensive cultural, creative, and entertaining extravaganza. Over 1,700 activities are being led by 215 guests hailing from 69 countries, catering to a wide range of interests and age groups. A highlight of the event is the participation of 600 authors who are present to sign their latest works.

South Korea is taking center stage as the Guest of Honour at SIBF this year. The festival is shining a spotlight on South Korea's unique knowledge and cultural landscape, covering literature, art, technology, and culture.
