India gave a strong rebuttal to Pakistani attempt to raise Kashmir issue at UNICEF South Asian Parliamentarian conference in Colombo on Tuesday.
Lok Sabha MP and member of Indian delegation Gaurav Gogoi reminded the Pakistani delegation of their internal situation related to human rights, plight of minorities and legislation such as blasphemy law.
He was reacting to Pakistani delegation attempt to
raise the issue of human rights in Kashmir. A similar attempt to raise the issue during meeting of South Asian speakers in Male was also thwarted.
The event in Colombo was organized by Sri Lankan Parliament together with the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) to celebrate the 30-year anniversary of the convention of the rights of the child and did not have any political agenda.
