Indian-American woman appointed interim civil court judge in US

Indian-American Deepa Ambekar has been appointed as the interim judge to a US civil court of New York City. 

She has become the second Indian-American woman judge in the city after Chennai-born Raja Rajeswari.A statement from the New York City



Mayor's office said, 41-year-old Ambekar is appointed to the Civil Court though she will be serving in the Criminal Court. 

Ms Ambekar previously worked for three years with the New York City Council.
