Indian Embassy in Saudi is in the process of working out the modalities of evacuation of stranded Indian, the details which will be shared in the due course, the Indian Embassy in Saudi Arabia said in a statement on Wednesday.

The Statement said that they are closely monitoring the situation on the spread of Covid-19 and taking all measures to ensure the welfare of Indian citizens in the Kingdom.

The Embassy also shared that 17 Indian nationals (Five from Maharashtra, four from Kerala, three from Uttar Pradesh, three from Bihar and two from Telangana) have passed away due to the disease in the  Kingdom.

The Embassy said that they



are in touch with all major companies in the Kingdom that employ Indian workers and have requested them to ensure that all precautionary measures have been taken and regular monitoring of health of workers, especially in  labour camps, is in place.

A Whatsapp Group of Indian Doctors has been created, to reach out in case of any emergency situations.

Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia recorded 1,325 new coronavirus cases and five new deaths in the last 24 hours, raising the total number of confirmed cases in the Kingdom to 21,402 and the death toll to 157, the Saudi Ministry of Health announced on Wednesday
