The Indian Mission in Abu Dhabi and Dubai today announced Indian nationals to e-register on the website of the Indian embassy in Abu Dhabi or the Indian Consulate in Dubai so that a database can be created for people who are wanting to return home, amidst the unprecedented situation caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

The Indian Mission in a statement said that the purpose of this e-registration is to only collect information and to make an estimate on the number of people who are wanting to return home to different parts of the country to enable the Indian Government to plan for the returns of Indians from abroad under the present situation.
It further stated that it will enable the Govt to plan ahead to receive the people in India by taking all precautions so that any spread of the Covid-19 disease can be avoided.
It requires asked people to fill separate forms for each member of the family. The Companies who are wanting to send their employees back have to fill separate for each of the employees.
The decision on resumption of passenger flights to
India will be taken in due course by the Government of India.
The Indian Mission also stated that any announcement regarding the flights will be made on its website and other social media platforms.
However, the returnees have to fulfill all conditions for travel , as will be laid down the UAE govt on departure and the those of the Indian Govt on arrival. People who find it difficult to fill the form should take help of the Indian Community organizations. The Embassies have asked people not to visit the Mission for this purpose, but to e-register on the website.
A similar creation of database has been announced by the Indian Missions in other Gulf countries like Bahrain, Oman and Saudi Arabia to estimate the number of Indian nationals who are willing to return home under the present situation.
As clamour for evacuation has been there, India had earlier indicated that all attempts will be made to bring back the Indian nationals from various parts of the world.
India has suspended all kinds of travel till 3rd May as the country is under lockdown due to the current pandemic situation created by the spread of Covid-19.
