The Ministry of External Affairs has asked Indian citizens visiting Rio de Janerio in Brazil to monitor local media and follow the guidance of local authorities. 
The Ministry in a travel advisory said, in case the citizens need any consular assistance, they can contact the Embassy of India in Brasilia at



+55-61-32484006. The e-mail ID of the embassy are attcons.brasilia@mea.gov.in and hoc.brasilia@mea.gov.in. The Consulate General of India in Sao Paulo can also be contacted at +55-11-32793780 and email:visa@cgisaopaulo.in.
The Brazilian city is witnessing protests and the law and order situation is bad there.
