Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi has warned Taliban rulers in Afghanistan against violating the water rights of its people over the shared Helmand River, reported the state-run IRNA news agency.
Speaking after inaugurating a market in a Pakistan border town, President Raisi said Iran is
determined to defend its water rights. He warned the Taliban to take his words seriously. The Helmand River flows from Afghanistan into Iran. President Raisi also urged the Taliban to allow Iranian hydrologists to check the water levels of the river in Afghanistan.
