The Islamabad High Court will today hear the appeals filed by jailed former Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, his daughter Maryam and son-in-law Captain (retired) Muhammad Safdar challenging the verdict in a corruption case. The three had filed the appeals yesterday.
Sharif, and his daughter were arrested in Lahore on Friday on their arrival from London after an
accountability court found them guilty over his family's ownership of four luxury flats in London. They were taken to Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi. Sharif's son-in-law, who was arrested on the 8th of this month, is also lodged in the same jail.
The court had sentenced Nawaz to 11 years in prison, Maryam to eight years and Safdar to one year.
