A single Israeli airstrike on a residential block in the northern Gaza city of Beit Lahia has left nearly 100 people dead, according to Gaza’s civil defense agency. The strike hit a five-story building housing around 200 people, killing 93 and leaving 40 missing, with dozens more injured.
Palestinian rescuers and family members were scouring the rubble of the demolished building, located near the Jabalia area where an ongoing Israeli operation is targeting pockets of Hamas fighters. The incident came just hours after the Israeli parliament voted to ban a key United Nations aid agency working in the Palestinian
territory.
