London: In yet another attack on an Indian in the UK, a 38-year-old man, hailing from Kerala, was stabbed to death in Southampton Way, Camberwell, by a compatriot. This is the third killing of an Indian-origin person by stabbing in Britain in the last one week. The police arrested the assailant the same day at a residential property in Southampton Way.
The victim, Aravind Sasikumar, was stabbed to death in his London home in the early hours on Friday morning. His flatmate Salman Salim (25), also a Malayali, has been charged with his murder.
Salim, a native of Panampilly Nagar, and Sasikumar have been sharing their flat at
Southampton Way Camberwall.
After the police picked him up, Salim was produced at Croydon Magistrate’s Court on Saturday and was remanded to appear at the Old Bailey on June 20, 2023.
Sasikumar was found dead with stab injuries at a residential property at Southampton Way. For the last 10 years, Sasikumar had been living in the UK after reaching there on a student visa.
Earlier this week, an Irish-Indian student Grace Kumar in Nottingham and an Indian nwoman from Hyderabad, Tejaswini Reddy in Wembley, werer killed in stabbing attacks on Tuesday.
