An earthquake of magnitude 6.0 jolted the central Japan causing strong shaking but no tsunami warning has been given yet. The quake occurred at 2.29 pm IST yesterday.
According to the Japan Meteorological Agency, the earthquake struck off the Sea of Japan coast, rattling the same part of the country where a
powerful earthquake flattened parts of central Japan on 1st January.
The 7.5 magnitude quake on New Year, in which more than 200 people were killed, destroyed buildings, causing fires and knocking out infrastructure on the Noto Peninsula in the country.
