Manama : The High Criminal Court sentenced a Bahraini man to 15 years in prison in connection with a drug peddling case. It also handed down two Russian women with one year each behind the bars for drug consumption.
The drug peddler was apprehended after the police received tip-off about his illegal activities. He was lured into a sting operation by an undercover agent, who requested shabu worth BD100.
He was tracked by police officers after the operation was completed and
was eventually nabbed along with the two Russian women.
He revealed earlier to the High Criminal Court that he had bought the drugs from an inmate he acquainted during his time in prison.
All the defendants failed drug tests, while different types of drugs have been seized from them.
The women were also fined BD200 each, and they will be deported once their jail terms finish. The Bahraini man was slapped with BD3,000 fine for his crime.
