Mike Pompeo meets North Korean envoy Kim Yong Chol in New York

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo met North Korean envoy Kim Yong Chol in New York on Wednesday evening to discuss a historic 12th June summit between President Donald Trump and Chairman Kim Jong Un. Pompeo and Kim Yong would be having a full day of meetings today as well. US delegation have also met North Korean envoys in Singapore and in Panmunjom, the demilitarized zone on the inter-Korean border.

Deputy Chief of Staff Joe Hagin, met with the North Korean team. White House Press Secretary Sarah sanders said this in her daily news conference. She said, the meeting in Singapore is expected to continue today. She said, US is continuing to prepare for the historic meeting.

Trump had previously cancelled the summit but both sides have since made fresh efforts to hold it as planned.
