President of Nepal Ramchandra Paudel has appointed Nepal’s resident ambassadors to India and Malaysia. The President re-appointed Dr Shankar Prasad Sharma as the Resident Ambassador of Nepal to the Republic of India. Dr Netra Prasad Timsina was appointed as the Resident Ambassador of Nepal to Malaysia.
The Head of State made the appointments under Article 282 (1) of the Constitution of
Nepal and on the recommendation of the Council of Ministers.
Sharma, is a senior Economist and Diplomat who was the Ambassador of Nepal to the United States from 2009-2014. Dr. Sharma served as the Vice-Chairman of the National Planning Commission from 2002 to 2006. His previous term as ambassador to India was from March 2022 to July 2024.
