New ministers were sworn in on Thursday to the cabinet of Sri Lankan Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapakse amid uncertainty over convening of Parliament.

President Maithripala Sirisena administered the oath to two cabinet ministers along with state and deputy ministers amidst continuing rumours of MPs switching sides.

Meanwhile, there is no final word on the convening of Parliament next week.

Earlier in the day, Mr. Rajapakse said that President informed him of convening Parliament on Monday, days before it

was to reconvene on 16th November.

Sources said, a final decision may be taken by tomorrow in this regard.

Meanwhile, Parliament speaker Karu Jaysuriya has called for an all-party meeting tomorrow to discuss the future course of action.

Mr. Sirisena is under growing pressure from within the country and international community to call early session of Parliament following swearing-in of Mahinda Rajapakse as new Prime Minister by replacing Ranil Wickremesinghe.
