The Nigerian Armed Forces have admitted that at least 85 civilians were killed accidentally in an army drone strike in a village in northwest Kaduna State on Sunday, in one of the country's deadliest military bombing mishaps. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu described the incident as unfortunate, disturbing, and painful, expressing indignation and grief over the tragic loss of lives. He ordered an investigation after the army acknowledged one of its drones aimed
at armed groups had accidentally struck the Tudun Biri village as residents were celebrating a festival.
Nigeria's National Emergency Management Agency in a statement said, 85 dead bodies have so far been buried while search is still ongoing. It said, 66 people were being treated at the hospital. Many of the victims are women, children and elderly who were celebrating the festival of Maulud.
