The 2017 Nobel Peace Prize was granted to The International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN) on Friday. The champ of the Nobel Peace Prize was chosen by a board designated by the Norwegian parliament from an aggregate of 318 applicants. ICAN is a coalition of non-legislative associations from around 100 distinct nations around the world, which advocates denial of atomic weapons under worldwide law.

The Norwegian Nobel Committee stated, "We live in reality as we know it where the danger of atomic weapons being utilized is more noteworthy than it has been for quite a while. A few states are modernizing their atomic arms

stockpiles, and there is a genuine peril that more nations will attempt to acquire atomic weapons."

"Atomic weapons are unlawful" ICAN Executive Director Beatrice Fihn's message to Donald Trump and Kim Jong-un, reports Reuters.

"The administration underpins the objective of a world without atomic weapons and salutes the Nobel Prize panel on this decision," said an administration representative in Berlin, as detailed by Reuters.
