Paris: Officials from 50 countries and 30 international organisations will meet in Paris today to discuss how to provide aid to civilians in Gaza Strip, while Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) and Hamas continue to clash. The aid conference will be held on the sidelines of the ongoing Paris Peace Forum 2023, an annual event.
French President Emmanuel Macron wants the conference to address the besieged Palestinian enclave’s growing needs including food, water, health supplies, electricity and
fuel.
Regional powers such as Egypt, Jordan and the Gulf Arab countries as well as Western powers and G20 members except for Russia will attend the summit. International institutions and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) operating in Gaza, such as Doctors Without Borders, will be present at the event. Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Ibrahim Shtayyeh, who controls the West Bank area, is also scheduled to attend the conference.
