THE Pakistani Taliban (TTP) has claimed responsibility for a suicide bombing that killed at least six people and injured 18 in Lahore.
A suicide bombing in the capital of Punjab province ripped through a military vehicle, killing four soldiers and two civilian bystanders on Wednesday. The military personnel were reportedly taking part in
Pakistan’s census – the country of 200 million people’s first in 19 years.
A wealthy city and the second largest in Pakistan, Lahore had been considered relatively safe until a spate of recent attacks. Nevertheless, the TTP had previously targeted the bomb site in 2009, which was an elite police training school.
