A popular Dubai radio DJ has died at the age of 28.
James Eli Aramouni, who was the host of the 'Drive Time' show on Dance FM, passed away on Sunday, January 13, 2019.
As a mark of respect, the station's broadcaster, Shock Middle East said it will be suspending all live shows until further notice on Monday.
Releasing a statement on its website, Cameron Plant, Group MD, Shock Middle East said James was a "much-loved member of the Shock Middle East family".
"We are devastated to hear of his passing. We will miss his creativity, energy and his contribution to Dance FM. We ask you to respect the
privacy of his family during this difficult time."
"His warmth, humour and humbleness will be dearly missed by his loyal listeners and those who worked with him," the statement went on to read.
Born in the US, Aramouni made his radio debut after moving to Lebanon in 2016, presenting the breakfast show on one of Beirut's biggest radio stations.
He made the move to Dubai two years ago, taking over the drive time slot on Dance FM, where listeners tuned in to his show between 4 pm and 8 pm, Sunday to Thursday.
Aramouni was a presenter with Dance FM for just over a year, after joining the team in October 2017.
