One person was killed, while thousands of Australians have been left without power after powerful storms swept across the country’s southeast part and caused widespread damage. In Australia’s most populous state of New South Wales, one woman was killed by a falling tree.
In Victoria, Australia’s second-most populous
state, over one lakh forty thousand properties were without power. Parts of the state recorded winds of up to 146 kilometres per hour yesterday night. The Bureau of Meteorology has forecast more strong winds in Victoria today, with hail and thunderstorms also possible, before conditions ease tomorrow.
