Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree creating a new state agency tasked with enhancing immigration governance. State media reported that the Citizenship and Foreign Nationals Registration Service will operate as part of the Interior Ministry. Kremlin spokesman



Dmitry Peskov said the agency’s main goal is to regulate migration and enforce laws to curb illegal activity. Earlier, the Russian Interior Ministry reported the presence of 670,000 undocumented migrants in the country.
