The Quad foreign affairs meeting between the US, Japan, India and Australia held yesterday on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York for the first time for a free and open Indo-Pacific.
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, Japanese Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Australia's Foreign Affairs Minister Marise Payne met to discuss the Indo-Pacific strategy.

Jaishankar thanked Quad Foreign Ministers for the meeting. US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said, they discussed their shared interest in building a free and open Indo Pacific, denuclearization of North Korea and joint efforts to promote regional stability.
Marise Payne also tweeted stating discussion involved their efforts to maintain and promote an open, prosperous and inclusive Indo-Pacific, and reaffirmation for Quad commitment to shared values and cooperation.
