The Islamic holy month of Ramadan began in several countries around the world with first Taraweeh prayer on Wednesday night. In India, Muslims will observe the month from Friday.
Taraweeh being offered at Masjid al-Haram or the Grand Mosque of Mecca on the first night of
Ramadan. After the moon was not sighted on Tuesday night, the holy month started in Saudi Arabia and many other countries on Wednesday.
Ramadan is the ninth month of Islamic calendar in which Muslims observe dawn-to-dusk fast.
