British Conservative politician Rishi Sunak has entered the race to be the next party leader and prime minister of the UK after getting the support of 100 MPs. Former Prime Minister Boris Johnson also reportedly flying back to London from a Caribbean holiday to take part in PM's race. Sunak will automatically become the

party leader and the prime minister if his opponents fail to get 100 nominations of Tory members.

Nominations to apply for the next Conservative Party leader and PM will close at 2 pm BST on Monday. A possible online ballot for party members will also take place next week if two candidates remain after the indicative vote by Tory MPs. The result will be announced on Friday, October 28. So far, cabinet member Penny Mordaunt has formally declared her candidacy.
