RIYADH — Riyadh Municipality has dedicated the first spot for mobile food trucks in King Fahd National Library Park in Al-Alya District.
Falah Al-Dowsary, the municipality’s director of environmental health, said Riyadh Emir Faisal Bin Bandar supported the project as it would generate employment opportunities for young Saudis and give them a chance to showcase their entrepreneurial and creative skills.
“The municipality issued temporary licenses to food truck owners to sell food in allocated locations. The municipality also organized a group of
young men and women to usher customers into the food trucks spot and help in maintaining a clean and sanitary environment,” said Al-Dowsary.
He said the municipality used recycled material such as wood, steel and tires to design chairs and tables in the park for people to sit and eat on.
“There will be a total of 124 spots for food trucks to park in and sell their products. The people operating the food trucks and working in the food trucks are all Saudis. The municipality maintains a high level of safety and hygiene in the project,” said Al-Dowsary.
