Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has said that the country is developing a privileged strategic partnership with India. He also said that Russia is actively expanding ties with the majority of global states, including China, India, Iran, and North Korea, as well as Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) countries. Mr Lavrov made these remarks while addressing the meeting of the board of trustees of the Alexander Gorchakov Public Diplomacy Fund, as reported by the Russian news agency.
The Russian Foreign Minister further said that they prioritize boosting ties with the majority of global states and the relations of
comprehensive partnership and strategic cooperation with China boast an unprecedented level of mutual trust, and serious progress has been reached in expanding and deepening friendly ties with Iran and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.
Over relations with Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) countries, Mr Lavrov said that Moscow puts special emphasis on strengthening all areas of cooperation with allies and partners among CIS member states, including within the framework of the Commonwealth, as well as the Collective Security Treaty Organization and the Eurasian Economic Union.
