Russian President Vladimir Putin yesterday said that the country does not want war after Western nations accused Moscow of deploying troops in large numbers near Ukraine with plans to invade.
A news agency quoted Putin as saying that Russia doesn't want a war That is exactly why we put forward proposals for a
process of negotiations. He said it in a press briefing following talks with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz in Moscow.
Scholz said that he agreed with Russia’s assessment that there was still a chance to avert war over Ukraine through diplomatic negotiations.
