Russia has agreed to allow UN officials to visit and inspect Zaporizhzhia nuclear power complex located in southeastern Ukraine. The site has been under Russian occupation since early March.
Russian President Vladimir Putin said that UN officials will be granted permission to visit and inspect the power plant complex. The
announcement was made after a call between Putin and French President Emmanuel Macron.
Earlier UN chief Antonio Guterres had said that he is concerned about the situation at the plant. The Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has welcomed Mr. Putin's statement.
