Russia will formally annex 4 regions of Ukraine where referendums were held by Kremlin. These regions are Luhansk, Donetsk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia. Russia has claimed that residents of these regions voted overwhelmingly to live under Moscow's rule. The Ukrainian government and the West have denounced the ballots as illegal, forced, and
rigged.
Russian President Vladimir Putin will attend a ceremony in the Kremlin today when four regions of Ukraine will be officially folded into Russia. Pro-Moscow administrators of these regions will sign treaties to join Russia during the ceremony at the Kremlin's St. George's Hall.
