The Russian invasion of Ukraine entered its seventh day on Wednesday, with fighting intensifying in Kyiv and in other big cities. Russia's defence ministry said it was planning to strike targets in Kyiv used by Ukraine's security service. Earlier on Tuesday, an Indian student lost his life in the shelling in Kharkiv.
In a briefing, Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla said no more Indian nationals are left behind in Kyiv and emphasised the government's efforts to
evacuate citizens from Kharkiv.
Hard shelling by Russia on Ukraine's second-largest city, Kharkiv, has killed 21 and left over 100 people injured.
A thick blanket of smoke shrouded Ukraine's Nikolaev area following a rocket attack by Russia as Moscow stepped up attacks on Day 7 of the invasion. Major Ukrainian cities were also bombed and reports suggested that the city of Kherson has fallen to Russia.
