Russian Ministry of Defense announced its withdrawal of troops from the city of Lyman in Ukraine's Donetsk region today. In an official announcement, the ministry stated that due to the danger of encirclement, the allied troops left Krasniy Lyman and withdrew to more advantageous positions.
As per the military department, 200 Ukrainian servicemen, five tanks and nine infantry fighting vehicles had been destroyed in the past 24 hours.
Lyman had emerged as
an important link in the Russian front line for ground communications and logistics.
The Russian Defense Minister, Sergei Shoigu, had previously assured that Russia's ongoing military mobilization would not affect women and students at both public and private state-accredited universities. The Minister had also added that by order of the president, the military department has prepared the relevant amendments to the mobilization decree.
