Russia’s Foreign Ministry Summons US Ambassador Over Missile Strike In Crimea

Russia’s Foreign Ministry has summoned the US ambassador over a missile strike in Crimea. It said that US-supplied ATACMS missiles were used in the attack and warned there would be consequences. Moscow also said the US bears equal responsibility for a strike on Crimea.

 

It said that by providing Ukrainian armed forces with advanced weapons, the United States has become a party to the conflict. The Russian Ministry claimed that the US-supplied ATACMS tactical missiles with cluster warheads that were used against the residents of Sevastopol were



targeted and coordinated by American military specialists. At least four people were killed and over 150 others injured in yesterday’s attack.

 

In a related development, a state of emergency had been declared in Sevastopol. On the other hand, foreign ministers of EU member states have adopted a 14th packet of economic and individual sanctions targeting Russia. Today’s package of sanctions includes an additional 116 individuals and entities that have been linked to the Russian-Ukraine conflict.
