The Japanese government says Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has postponed a visit to Japan due to his father's health.
Chief Cabinet Secretary Hayashi Yoshimasa told reporters on Monday that Saudi Arabia had informed the government late Sunday night that the crown prince's visit would be postponed due to
the health condition of King Salman bin Abdulaziz.
The crown prince was scheduled to begin a four-day official visit on Monday. He was expected to meet with Emperor Naruhito and Prime Minister Kishida Fumio.
The Japanese government says the two countries will coordinate a new schedule for the visit.
