Saudi Arabia launches iftar aid in Djibouti, Somalia

Djibouti: Saudi Arabia launched the King Salman program for iftar in Djibouti on Sunday, distributing food to people to help them break their fasts throughout the holy month of Ramadan.

The event was coordinated by the Saudi Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah, and Guidance, represented by the Kingdom’s embassy in the country.

Several Saudi and Djibouti officials were present at the launch of the program.

In Somalia, the ministry also launched the iftar program in the presence of the representatives of both countries.

The program aims to distribute food baskets as part of the Kingdom’s charitable and humanitarian



efforts, especially during Ramadan.

Saudi Arabia this year launched projects in 34 countries to provide iftar meals for around 1.2 million people throughout the holy month, which began on April 2.

Meanwhile, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center distributed 200 Ramadan food baskets in Pristina, Kosovo, benefiting 1,000 individuals. The center also distributed 454 food baskets in various cities of Niger, benefiting 2,270 individuals.

This aid is a part of the Eta’am initiative, which aims to distribute 156,993 food baskets weighing 8,430 tons during Ramadan in 19 countries, benefiting 901,463 individuals.
