KABUL: Chief Executive of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Dr. Abdullah Abdullah returned home on Thursday evening after a successful visit from Saudi Arabia, a statement from CE press office said.
According to the statement, the Chief Executive Dr. Abdullah met with custodian of the two holy mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, crown prince of the Saudi Arabia, first and second deputies of the Saudi’s council of ministers, Minister of Interior, Minister of labor and social affairs, Minister of commerce and investment, Minister of Education, Minister of Defense, Minister of Finance, Minister of Religious Affairs, secretary general of the Gulf council, general director of the two holy mosques, governors of Makah and Medina, Saudi businessmen and the Afghans residing in Saudi Arabia.
During the meetings, the two sides hinted on boosting bilateral ties between the two brother and Muslim nations, counterterrorism,
peace in Afghanistan and the region, investments, increasing commercial ties, education cooperation and addressing the Afghan refugees’ problems, the statement added.
Besides unprecedented welcome from the Chief Executive and his accompanying delegation, Saudi Arabia pledged to help Afghanistan with investment and facilitation of commercial ties. The country also promised to increase scholarships for Afghanistan, addressing Afghan refugees’ problems, hosting a conference on Afghan peace and stability and to help Afghanistan in reconstruction and development process.
The Chief Executive was accompanied by leading political figures, including Ministers of Justice, Religious Affairs, Commerce and Industries, Education, Labor and Social Affairs, counter narcotic, chairman of the Ulema Council of Afghanistan, MPs, advisors to Chief Executive Office, officials of the chamber of commerce and a number of the country’s businessmen.
