Saudi prince Salman making his name 'cracking down on corruption' has reportedly been revealed as the buyer of the world's most expensive home.
The luxury French chateau has a value of £225m and was even considered by Kim Kardashian and Kanye West as a potential venue for their wedding back in 2014.
It was sold in 2015 for a whopping $300m (£225m) but its new owner was kept secret for some time.
But now, an investigation claims Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, heir to the Saudi throne, was behind the extravagant purchase.
Salman has been the driving force behind several policy changes in the Middle East, and is said to be cracking down on corruption when it comes to the
Saudi elite.
He has been responsible for many rich and wealthy individuals being detained at the Ritz-Carlton hotel in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia's capital , with reports that those involved are being told to cough up cash in a return for freedom.
Salman has even said that he hopes to raise $100bn from their allegedly ill-gotten gains.
But experts say this latest information, plus other paper trails which appear to show the prince as the owner of a $450m Leonardo Da Vinci painting and a $400m superyacht, could damage the prince's projected stance on socialism and equality.
The chateau, known as Chateau Louis XIV, comes with its own moat, a wine cellar and a home theatre.
