Sheikh Muhammad Ali Hammadi, a senior Hezbollah official, was fatally shot on Tuesday in a drive-by attack near his residence in Machghara, located in Lebanon’s Bekaa Valley. According to media reports, gunmen fired six shots at Hammadi. Lebanese authorities have initiated an investigation into the incident, with local media speculating that the attack may be linked to a
longstanding family dispute.
However, no suspects have been identified so far. Hammadi was also listed on the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation’s most-wanted terrorist list for his involvement in the hijacking of a plane carrying 153 passengers and crew en route from Athens to Rome.
