Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan will be on a state visit to China next week.
During the visit, Sheikh Mohamed and Chinese President Xi Jinping will review the comprehensive strategic cooperation between the two countries across various sectors in addition to regional and international issues of common concern.
Sheikh Mohamed will be accompanied by a high-level delegation comprising a number of Sheikhs, ministers and senior officials.
China is the UAE’s second-largest trading partner, with almost 60 billion US Dollars bilateral
trade in 2017, which is expected to go up to 70 billion US Dollars by 2020.
The UAE provides Chinese businesses with a platform to access vast emerging markets, with a total population of over 2 billion expats living in the country. Over 4,000 Chinese companies are operating in the UAE.
The UAE accounted for 30 per cent of Chinese exports to Arab countries, and 22 per cent of the Sino-Arab trade in 2017.
Among Arab countries, the UAE, with a total investment of over 2.1 billion USD, has the largest number of investment projects in China as of 2017.
