In United States, devastating floods have killed at least six people and pushed thousands people from their homes at southern Louisiana. Governor of Louisiana John Bel Edwards described the flood as unprecedented and declared a state of emergency.
Rain accumulations totaled more than 20 inches in five parts of the New Orleans and Baton Rouge area over the weekend.
More than 20,000 people have been evacuated from their homes by emergency teams in high-water vehicles, boats and helicopters.
Officials reported that hundreds of roads in the southern parts of the state were closed due to flooding. The White House made emergency federal funding available to support rescue crews and the eventual recovery.
