The fierce wildfires across the Los Angeles area in Southern California of the US have killed at least 27 people and destroyed more than 12,300 structures in more than a week. The Palisades Fire, one of the largest active wildfires in the Los Angeles region, has scorched 23,713 acres so
far.
The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection said the fire, which broke out on January 7, is 22 percent contained. Another major active fire, the Eaton Fire, has scorched 14,117 acres near Altadena and Pasadena. The fire is 55 percent contained.
